June 2024 Newsletter

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

Summer is in full swing and so is election season. With Tuesday’s primary upon us, I bring you some campaign updates and support in this month’s newsletter.

Election Day Reminder

Tuesday, June 25th, is Election Day - I encourage every registered Republican to participate and have your voice heard. You must either have your ballot postmarked by Monday, June 24th, or turn it into one of the several drop boxes or the county clerk's office on June 25th.

I love the political process, much to my wife's chagrin, as evidenced by the numerous campaign signs I've put out for great candidates in this race. I do want to publicly state my support for a candidate in a crucial race for the county.

Support for Colleen Bonner

As a member of the Wasatch County Council, I am writing to express my strong support for Colleen Bonner in the upcoming election on June 25th. I have known Colleen for years and recognize her deep commitment to preserving this great place we call home and planning for its future.

Colleen Bonner has a proven track record of effective leadership and community involvement. Her experience as the former Mayor of Midway City speaks volumes about her ability to handle complex issues and deliver tangible results. Contrary to the last-minute attacks made by Nick López, Colleen's focus on preservation is not a recent development. She has consistently advocated for sustainable practices and responsible development. During her tenure as Mayor, she laid the groundwork for the Open Space Bond, which passed the following year, balancing the interests of all Midway residents, including those concerned about financial implications.

Moreover, Colleen's comprehensive approach to county issues goes beyond just preservation. She understands the intricate details of county governance, including infrastructure, water management, and economic development. She has the experience needed to navigate these complexities effectively.

Nick López has run for city and county council numerous times without success, and his current campaign, supported by Democrats in a Republican primary, raises questions about his alignment with the values and priorities of our party. His rigid and out-of-touch positions do not reflect the views of our county and lack the foresight needed for the future of the valley. It is essential to have a council member who is experienced, balanced, and capable of representing the wide-ranging interests of Wasatch County residents. Colleen Bonner embodies these qualities. I urge you to vote for Colleen Bonner on June 25th for experienced and principled leadership!
